excellence—

the quality of being outstanding or extremely good.

black excellence,

common day items that mark your daily life, as well as mine, came from blacks.

potato chips? thank George Crum

the ice cream scoop? Alfred L. Cralle

carbon-filament light bulb? Lewis Latimer

beautiful hair styles, like cornrows, began with Africans.

rap, jazz, r&b, and blues music styles all originated with a Black.

the clothes drier, ironing board, home security systems, microphones, automatic gear shift,

the list continues on of the amazing inventions.

while black culture is stole, used, and blown up,

those who created it, blacks, are overlooked and even looked down upon.

instead of thinking of blacks as different or erotic, refer to them as intelligent and beautiful.

next time you’re sitting at a red light—an African American creation—or listening to your

favorite hip hop song just think, as Amandla Sternberg once asked,

what would America be like if we loved black people as much as we loved black culture?
