Infectious

Haylee Burel, Poet

Just sit back and think about this generation.

It has me shaking my head looking at these fools who can’t hold a conversation.

Too busy trying to look good, or keeping up with their exes.

Their minds are more empty, being focused on parties or flexin’,

Instead of focusing on life and its beautiful, unique complexes.

But no matter how many times you tell them, they just don’t get the message.

They’re still about drugs, parties, and relations with other sexes.

Trying so hard to be an adult when they can’t even control their own expenses.

It’s their way or the highway, no exceptions.

But really how far will doing these things get them?

One day they’ll regret their immature actions,

But until then, I’ll just sit back and watch our generation’s decisions become infectious.
