ISIS Must be Defeated

Dylan Klepk

I agree that the world would be amazing if we all got along. Sadly, that’s not how the world works. Terrorist groups like ISIS are a threat to the world by carrying out suicide bombings and beheadings. I believe we should send troops in and take them out.

In the past few years, many bombings were done on ISIS along with drone protrols. I still think that isn’t enough; I feel that we put a band-aid on a problem instead of actually fixing it. Over 26,000 bombs were dropped in 2016, which made progress, but I think more could’ve been done.

ISIS has an estimated 20,000 members in their group, though some estimates have placed the number as high as 80,000. With members joining daily, and the movment getting larger, it’s time to take them out.

Most Muslims currently believe ISIS portrays their religion in a bad way. Fifty-eight percent of Muslims in Afghanistan are against ISIS, an astounding 91 percent in Iraq, and 80 percent in Pakistan.

Many people say taking out ISIS is not worth this risk, and we shouldn’t send in troops. But I disagree; I believe we should put boots on the ground and take out ISIS before it gets any bigger. Many people already believe ISIS is in the United States. ISIS is a threat to the world, and it needs to be removed. It only takes one bombing to kill or injure thousands of people.
