Tallwood High’s very own Advanced Fashion students hosted an annual fashion show on May 10th from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

The show was originally scheduled for April 19th but was postponed for logistical issues that needed to be addressed.

Overall, the show took about two months of planning.

“This year, fifteen students are involved in the planning process,” said Cassidy Mulé, the Fashion Marketing teacher at Tallwood. The amount of models and pieces also influence how long it takes to plan.

Admission was five dollars in advance and seven dollars at the door. “The money goes toward supplies, field trips, and equipment needed for the fashion department,” said Mulé.

There was a free raffle with many various prize bundles that were offered. Some included: a movie date for two and Panera gift cards; money and Starbucks gift cards; McDonalds gift cards and Dollar Tree gift cards.

The first scene’s theme was “After School,” during which the participating teachers modeled and danced in clothing from Nordstrom Rack and Buckle B.

The second scene was “Game On,” which featured male and female models of the student body. The clothing modeled was donated by fellow students.

The third scene, named “Tomboy Touch,” included the ladies rocking female clothing with a masculine touch. The clothes modeled here were provided by Nordstrom Rack and Bevello.

For the fourth scene, the boys stole the show with “Prints charming.” These guys didn’t hesitate to show their energy and burst into dance while keeping it cool. Outfits were supplied by Dillard’s.

“Makin’ Moves” was the theme for the fifth scene, which included the girls stepped it up and dressed up. Models stunned the crowd with this professional, but fashionable pieces provided by Bevello and Dillard’s.

The final scene, “Damaged Goods”, was influenced by the trendy acid washed and ripped jeans. Models for the last act wore their own creations, which was part of their project.

“The purpose is to allow my students to experience acting as an event planner and planning an event with their classmates. It is truly one of the most rewarding experiences I have at Tallwood,” said Mulé.
