Boys’ Volleyball Begins Conditioning
May 1, 2017
Tallwood Boy’s Volleyball Team is preparing for their season after school, from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M, Tuesday and Thursday at Tallwood High School. Conditioning will go through Summer, and their season will start in the Fall.
Volleyball means quite a lot for students and can even provide a potential career for some. When asked, students on the team discussed what volleyball meant to them.
“Volleyball is my passion and a way to get me into college,” Braydon Beckwith, Junior at Tallwood, said.
“Volleyball is a sport where I can express emotions. When I’m happy, energetic, upset, or mad, I can just step on a volleyball court and just let it all out,” said Isaiah Gifford, Junior at Tallwood.
There’s always room to improve. Some students gave opinions on what they could improve on personally.
“I need to work on not getting upset when I mess up. We can improve on taking things a little more serious when it’s needed,” Beckwith said
“Increasing my vertical jump,” said Sophomore Aaron Peco.
Students have goals to improve on as a team, to make this season the best it can be. These improvements will definitely give the team an edge on the court.
“Our team just needs more practice and shaping. However, we already have the trust and chemistry,” Gifford said.
The team will be working towards improving themselves, and better prepare themselves for conference, which the team has high hopes of making in to.
“To grow as a team and be able to do better than last year,” Beckwith said.
“I hope we make it to conference because we have the potential,” Gifford stated.
