Ring Dance Glamorous and Unforgettable

Tallwood’s annual Ring dance was held on the 18th of March at the Hilton. Not only was Tallwood’s dance that day, but so was Salem’s and Princess Anne’s. Walking into the venue late was definitely an eye catcher. There were many students present already and more to arrive. To get to the actual room where the dance was held, students had to check in with a table.

There were rooms set up for students to grab their rings and even a room that held a photo booth that included props. The room itself where all the students gathered was filled with tables, a wooden dance floor, a mini stage, and little bars where students could get drinks such as soda, water, or even snack foods.

To top it all off, there was even a DJ or two. “High schoolers are my favorite age group to DJ with. Plus, I got to tag team with a good pal Larry,” said Austin Redman, Dj for Astro Entertainment. “Everyone was in sync with each other,” he continued.

There was a wide range of music that was played that night. It included music from Miley Cyrus to Bruno mars to Adele. Slow songs were played as well but didn’t overpower the event, a fact students were thankful for.

“For this particular event since I was with Larry, I’d play the newer music, since I’m younger, while Larry plays the classics,” Austin stated about the music selections.

All of this couldn’t have been done without help from the Junior class and, of course, Tallwood staff. Teachers helped by chaperoning and providing mason jars for decorations.

“It was a team effort,” stated Arianna Hall, Junior class sponsor.

The end of the night couldn’t come any faster, but enjoyable is an understatement. THS class of 2018 couldn’t have had a better night!

“It was a great vibe,” exclaimed Austin.
