Lion Voices: Describe the most interesting teacher you’ve ever had

Frances Summers

Anya Kalgren: “The most interesting teacher I have ever had would have to be my 3rd grade teacher, Mr. Weston. He was my last teacher I had in England before my family moved back to the United States. He made sure we were always having fun while learning. When we were learning about India, he took us on a “trip” to India, complete with a plane ride and traditional Indian food and music. When we learned about chocolate, we went on a field trip to a chocolate factory and made our own chocolate that we gave to people passing by on the corner. We dug up Roman artifacts from under the playground during our Roman unit and we did a reenactment of the Roman invasion of the Anglo-Saxons. We did a lot of other fun stuff like an overnight field trip for team building and making our own chocolate machines. Overall, I’d say he is my favorite, most interesting teacher because he always made sure that our day was fun and there was never a dull moment in his classroom.

Bethany Hansel: In 6th grade, my history teacher would never end up starting the warm up in class because my teacher would just talk and talk about her personal life. She would tell us the history of random things and we had this one class where we spent the whole hour talking about the history of leg shaving and it was really weird. Also, she was kind of mean too and we didn’t really learn anything that year but we’d all just sit there and listen. She was so crazy!

Victoria Edlan: The teacher who I thought was most interesting throughout my school career is Mr. Neumann, my former French teacher in middle school. He was my favorite teacher because he’d teach French to us using various techniques, games, and activities He wasn’t serious all the time either; he was funny, kind, and wise. During class, he’d inform us about current events and would give us advice for future reference. In my opinion, he has really shaped a lot of his students, myself included, into being amazing people. I honestly do not know where I would be without the inspiration, advice, and lessons he taught me.

Brianna Anderson: The most interesting teacher I’ve had throughout the school year was Mrs. Free, my senior AP English and VTFT teacher, who was fun and interactive. Her lessons were engaging and interesting. I had her last year for VTFT and have her again for the same class. She encouraged me to improve my weaknesses and better my skills.

Anna Reddel: My 6th grade Science teacher had my class make volcanoes and it was a big project that each 6th grader would have to do and it was really fun. Some of the school would even come and watch us.
