Tallwood Baseball season is underway March 16th with hopes of going to the playoffs and winning it all.

Tallwood is coming off a rough season going 4-14, but is looking forward to a productive one this year. While this does not set this team back from winning a district title or going through the 5A regional bracket.

“I think we are going to do really well, I look at us coming in top five (in the beach district), that’s our goal this season… I think it’s doable, very doable,” said Varsity Head Coach William Atkinson.

Tallwood has six seniors on the team this year with a variety of young freshman, sophomore, and junior talent. With seniors leaving last year with opening positions brings the young talent up to show there skills.

Tallwood Baseball does not have much hardware, they have one Co-champion in the conference but is now going for the regional and state title, and they have the talent to do it.

“I’m excited man, a lot of talent, underrated talent and it’s going to be exciting and fun and an interesting season, very interesting season,” said senior varsity player Brian Freytes.

With the lack of success in previous years, this year is looks promising for the Tallwood baseball program. The players are excited and the coaches are excited to dominate the competition.
