RWBY: Volume 4 a Step Forward for the Series

RWBY: Volume 4 a Step Forward for the Series

Charles Romano

While it’s only a Youtube Series created by Monty Oum of Rooster Teeth, RWBY has the great potential of being an actual anime. Even after Monty Oum’s passing, Rooster Teeth still continues to carry on his magnificent work out of respect. One would think that such an event would hinder or completely stop the group’s productivity. Instead, it has only fueled them to achieve perfection on the series.

Characters feel real and very relatable. The sequences, events, and scenarios that characters are placed in deal with some of today’s society issues. For instance, a character by the name of Yang Xiao Long is currently trying to overcome her PTSD and right arm amputation from the last volume’s events.

Progression and story development are quite phenomenal, as the plot moves at a perfect pace, with just the right amount of time for any given viewer to catch up on what’s happening within the current story. There’s even lore on the world of Remnant if one is curious about the universe, with Rooster Teeth releasing a lore storyteller series happily titled: “The World Of Remnant.”

Following the traumatic and surprising turn of events after Volume 3, the RWBY team has separated, as each character has been placed into a new challenge that they have yet to overcome. The tone of the show is dark as protagonists tackle their challenges, some in worse shape than the others.

The series is progressing much like The Sopranos, because, as said before, it’s taking a dark and depressing turn as the protagonists seek to fix their own problems. Sadly, as they seek to find answers and solve their problems, they only find more questions and more problems.

Even though the original creator of the series, Monty Oum, has passed, his team at Rooster Teeth continues to push on with RWBY. With that, the large fanbase continues to follow the series, most saying that the series has even improved from the first three volumes.
