iOS 10 a Hit
October 24, 2016
Recently, Apple introduced a new update for its iPhone, iPod, and iPad devices. As an Apple user, I updated my iPhone 6s and had mixed emotions about the about the update. Though admittedly I was After having the update for about a week and a half, I think that iOS 10 is definitely a hit and here’s why.
The most notable change to in the iOS update is the jammed packed iMessage. New, creative ways of interaction have been added to enhance conversation. Now you can send digital touch messages, an interactive blackboard of sorts where you can draw using neon colors or use gestures to send already customized live images. You can also add a little flare to your messages by adding laser lights, confetti, or even making it invisible. iMessages also offers direct access to gif courtesy of Bing and Apple Music from the Music app. It allows you to send your music to friends, assuming that both parties are subscribed to Apple Music.
The notification format has also changed. It is noted be be much more circular and roundish than the older version. One can also directly interact with the notification from the lock screen if the have the S version of their device. Now you can respond, like, comment, etc. with convenience. You can also access widgets traditionally viewed only at the far left home screen now displayed on the lock screen. You can customize which widgets are displayed. The options include the news, weather, stock, calendar, remind apps and so much more.
Finally, users are now able to delete the default apps that were once permanently placed on the phone. Those pesky apps that you never used and took up space can now be deleted. And don’t worry if you change your mind after deleting them. They can be accessed via the app store should you ever want them back.
Overall I think iOS 10 is a hit. Users will have some adjusting to do, but the new features are for the better. What features do you think Apple will add to their next iOS update?
