Execute the Executive Order: An Op-Ed Poem
February 23, 2017
Oh here it comes an Executive Order,
Almost forged straight in Mordor.
Barring immigration for ninety days,
Everyone must do what it says.
Stay out Syria, Sudan, Libya, and Yemen
If we won’t help them now, then when?
They flee the terrorists that we create
We act like the problem will disintegrate.
They can’t come in because their religion,
Where’s the hospitality of a “Christian?”
Anyone from that country must be barred,
American travelers forever scarred.
The world faces a refugee crisis;
Created by the cat and mouse, ISIS.
Where is the leader we called to action?
Oh yeah, sitting on Twitter finding a caption.
The nation understands where the idea is from
But it doesn’t mean refugees shouldn’t come.
There is such a fear of their radicals
That the refugees are used as collateral.
United States a country founded on immigration
Throws up a wall at the slightest irritation.
“Radical Islam!”
Dude, just keep calm.
Handle the issue with some grace
Don’t you dare reach for that Mace.
Please sir Donald Trump,
Don’t go and be a chump.
Stand up to Bannon,
Lift up the ban on
Immigration from these poor countries.
We know it was just a bad call,
Let it go or face your downfall.
“I’ll see you in court!”
Ha that trial will be short,
Open up the migrant flood gate,
Do away with Muslim hate.
If all lives mattered
Then don’t leave some tattered.
May peace be with us.
Be a leader the world can trust.
