The Global Studies and World Language Academy gives so great many opportunities to the students. Especially having delegations from different countries.

This year the Northern Irish girls from the Glenlola Collegiate School came once again, this being their 5th delegation with Tallwood. To give the students of Tallwood an insight of the Northern Irish culture, school, economy, government, and teen life a Northern Irish cafe was held on Friday, September 30, 2016.

The cafe started off with Tallwood’s delegation that went to Northern Ireland last year. They showed us a video filled with memories of their amazing trip, then discussed important landmarks, most memorable moments, and why people should apply.

Afterwards, the Northern Irish exchange students showed off some of their talents. Emiko Seawright and Katie Doherty beautifully sang Danny Boy, and then Morgan Pritgerd presented traditional Irish dancing. Next up came the other students from Northern Ireland presenting about the Glenlola Collegiate School, the education system, culture, and as well as politics.

As a little surprise gift, Rotem Yatziv, one of the students who went to Northern Ireland last year, presented very talented tap dancing. To end the cafe Tallwood and the Northern Irish exchange students had a chance of trying pastries, desserts, tea, and other baked goods in a tea party setting.

Overall, the cafe was very informative, fun, had great food and people, and memorable. Tallwood gives us these opportunities and the students, also teachers, are very grateful.
