World Quest Team Places Third

World Quest is a four part competition put on by the World Affairs Council of Greater Hampton Roads. The four parts are General Knowledge, People and Places, Geography, and Current Events. There are fifteen questions in each section, and the first has a bonus question. There are two competitions, a regional competition and a state competition. The winner of the regional competition wins a trophy, and they get to go to Washington D.C. to compete in the state competition.

This year Tallwood’s World Quest team won third place with a total of forty points. Mrs. LaRoue, World History teacher at Tallwood and one of the sponsors for WorldQuest said, “I’m very proud of our team. They are young, we are going to come back next year and kick tail.” The World Quest team tried their best this year, and next year they will have more experience and will be more equipped to win the competition.

In years past they have won the competition, and the reason why they didn’t win is because there were many new people on the World Quest team who had never done World Quest before. That is why they’ll have a good chance at winning next year with a more experienced team.
