I don’t want this to sound like a sad goodbye, so I will focus on the positive things that happened this year. When I started senior year I was nervous about all the challenges I knew were coming ahead, but at the same time, I was excited because it was the last time I would have to stress out about school and I thought I needed to finish strong.
Being a senior in the academy was stressful because of my final senior project. I knew it was going to be a lot of work, but what kept me going was the friendships I made and my family who supported me all the way through. Over the year there were times when I felt like giving up because of the workload from all my classes, but I reminded myself that I needed to finish strong and make my parents proud.
In my first semester in school, it started rough, but as soon as the second semester started so did new beginnings. I decided to sign up for Journalism since I had always enjoyed writing. Being in this class has taught me so much about the news and media and how media has grown throughout history. One thing I have enjoyed most in journalism though was being able to write about any topic I had a strong interest in.
It is hard to believe that this year has come to an end because of how fast everything went by. I remember being a freshman during COVID-19 stressing about what the future holds, but believe it or not, these four years of high school taught me so much and the most important lesson I learned was I don’t have to rush anything. All the friendships I made and the experiences, I had shaped me into who I am today. As I grow older I will be carrying the strength and wisdom I gained from these four years.
Goodbye, Senior Year
