With the 2023-2024 school year coming to an end, the Junior class is buzzing with mixed emotions about their journey into their Senior year; their final ROAR.
The nervousness and excitement of going into your last year of High School is very mixed.
However, there are students who are more joyful about moving on, “I’m really excited for senior projects. I’m in both the GSWLA and the Environmental Studies Program… I’m also looking forward to leading the English Honor Society as co-president next year.” said Isabelle Chao, Tallwood Junior.
Moving on to something else can be very scary, but there is always a possibility of a new adventure. One of the biggest adventures of going into your senior year is applying for college.
“I’m planning on going to TCC for two years and see from there if I want to continue. College has become so expensive, so I don’t want to commit to something that might not even benefit me…” said Anya Lyubushkina, Tallwood Junior.
College has become so expensive that some students don’t want to go to college. Some students have to wait for student aid, “I’m waiting to apply to college until October, so I can fill out a FAFSA form for financial aid.” said Lucy Goodwin, Tallwood Junior.
The scariest reality is knowing that you are about to leave. You’re going to leave a comfort zone to then going into adulthood, “..I’m most excited for also. I’m scared of all of the responsibilities and expectations that’ll be placed on me… It’s all just really daunting.” said Chao.
Moving on from childhood to adulthood is what Senior year is all about. There are exciting things and scary things, but just remember: You did it!
