Medical Bills After Birth Should be Lowered

Across the US babies are born everyday. Many families have health insurance to cover the expense of maternity care but many plans don’t include teen moms or young parents in general. The cost of taking care of a baby is very expensive, and the medical fees for having one are even more so making it financially hard for parents to balance out money for the child & hospital bills.

Giving birth in the US is more expensive than any other country in the world due to our improved medical technology.

The prices of giving birth should be lowered because baby essentials and especially baby formula are already overpriced. Babies go through diapers and formula extremely quickly. A standard box of pampers are $9.97 – $39.77 and formula is $18.96 – $52.00. That’s a lot of money for the first year of a child’s life  and it just gets more expensive after that.

The type of birth a mother decides to have  depends on the bill. The national median charge for child birth includes $13,524 for delivery and care for the mother and $3,660 for newborn care adding up to $16,884 just for doctor services.

Those prices are insane just to have a baby and have a personal assistant for recovery, when raising a child is already expensive enough. Medical insurance will cover most of the bill if you have it. If you don’t have insurance you’ll have to pay, but will get help. Imagine all that money adding up from the baby essentials to the baby formula, to the hospital bills from the amount of kids you have, doubling up the amount of money for years.
